Slat Wall
When we bought our home in 2020, the living room was very pink, had crusty carpet, and the same floral wallpaper border Katie’s parent’s had in the bedroom in the ‘90s. We updated the room with crisp Sherwin Williams Very White walls, a Sherwin Williams (enter name) focal wall, and Allen+Roth (Name) LVP flooring.
After sitting in the space for a couple of months, we decided it needed more warmth and cozy feels — Katie suggested a slat wall.
So with Katie’s holiday bonus gift card, we went to Lowe’s and grabbed 18, 1x2x8’ wood slats, an automatic brad nail gun, brad nails, and walnut stain. We contemplated on covering the entire entry wall, but settled on the section left of the front door.
Fast forward two years, we decided to go all-in on for a dark and cozy living room. So, Mike went back to Lowes, grabbed 28 1x2s for a total cost of $126 (plus tax) and covered the rest of the wall.
We couldn’t be happier with the final look and can’t wait to see how it will look with the other plans we have for the room.
