Rad Power Bikes Radwagon 4
Type of find (Bargain vs. Investment): Investment.
Why it's a find: This electric cargo bike is a convenient, safe, and less stressful way for Katie to get all three kids to school on time. There’s no running between each stop, no need to buy a second car, and less of a negative impact on the environment. It was a large upfront cost, but we’re not paying for another car payment, insurance, gas, etc.
What we like most about it: The fun color, the included headlight, the fact that it can hold two kiddos (up to 350 lbs of cargo) through rain or shine, and that it goes pretty fast. With the added frame and cover, it makes it seem safer in case there was ever an accident. Also, the kids seem to love going on rides, especially when we go “fast.”
The quirks we deal with: It is heavy! The weight makes it a bit tricky to take it in and out of our house, but it is doable. The kickstand is a little hard to maneuver, but you can’t do much about that. And, the screen that shows the speed, miles, etc. always seems to slide off the “pads.”
A word to the wise: If you buy the frame cover, it is extremely tight. You can hardly pull it over the frame and if you do, it will most likely pop the zipper. Ours popped and their customer service recommended trying to stretch the fabric with a hairdryer and going extremely slow when trying to install it over the frame.
